Bon Vivant

Daft Punk manager, globe trotter, the hippest man alive, Ed Banger head honcho, top man and Bon Vivant: Pedro Winter aka monsiuer Busy P is living it up at VEGA on FRIDAY. Don't sleep, the man is the most influencial music mogul on the club scene worldwide, hands down. Geo has done a great job to have Pedro coming by, playing the latest electro, disco, hip hop, ol'skool and nurave shit from the über hyped Edbanger label. So, now you can see where all the hype is coming from. I met Pedro the first time in Copenhagen back in 99 with the Respect team and he is the same guy ever since: In the mix. Not here to hurt nobody but to D.A.N.C.E.

Bowling, anyone?

Hate the game, the shoes, the everything. But a good opportunity to drink beer and act it out. Here's Brian from Wood Wood getting his bowl on

CHEERS

So, it is the season, christmas lunch madness had an early start this Sat. Karl O of the Wood Wood posse invited me to join the fashionistas to the Karriere bar. Sadly the food wasn't too exiting, but who cares when the drinks are flowing and the girls are pretty

Shoot

Looking for the perfect picture. Chose to go for the Canon G9 - comes highly recommended. Not going to leave home without it. Stay tuned...

Going to the dentist.

Teeth ready for weekend. The fear of pale white men messing with your teeth is an universal one. Just ask Dustin H. Maybe that's why these guys keep bunch of Weird products on their shelves so we will be distracted from the unpleasentness. Well, since Pik means dick in danish this doesn't help the situation

Give the drummer some

Good night, and god bless Charles Hayward. A man and his music gave us a fantastic treat at Hz. Keep an eye on the Escho boys. The quartet is rocking it with some real and interesting events. Last night it was fun too. Cheers mates

Swedish Disco

There's a lot of things that Swedes do better. Space Disco is one - don't say ABBA - the next big thing is Sally Shapiro and Johan Agebjorn. This mix is for the very great PIG mag:

And wear something silver next time

Neglection

Again, feeling not represented by the politics of the land, we're happy that cultural endeavors offers a haven for alternative ideas and inspirations. A place to meet and not to divide. No need to be voting on or off, just a continous struggle to produce something new or revitalize what has been given to us by generations of free thinkers, risk takers and visionairies. One of them is performing at Hz next friday: Charles Hayward - postpunk hero and sound creator of great inspiration. Another one, Gavin Watson showing us the true colours of the "have nots". Real creatives will always produce the unforseen even when given little or no opportunity at all. That's good to think of in these days of normalization. Just a thought.

4 more years

Election days are here again and poster faces everywhere. Hard to take too seriously as they all state the same, but there's a chance for us to get rid of the harsh right wing politics that has poluted the nation for the last 6 years, replaced with a lighter version of the same shit. I enjoy the customized election posters the most - that's the REAL thing

KARRIERE

The new (art) establishment is changing the CPH map with the opening of the new art café/bar/brasserie KARRIERE in the old meat packing district "Den Hvide Kødby" (don't mention Meat Pack NY). We need new blood, so the opening on Friday is a MUST. Congratulations to Lærke, Jens Peter og Jeppe - We can't wait.

I hope the bloody mary is rockin'.

This will fast forward the moving in of half the cities galleries and fashionista shops into this area - good and bad, since the prices will be skyrocketing as soon as this is no longer "butchers only", and this leading to the closure of a legendary area in CPH. Vesterbro is quickly becoming Vester Nouveau, but this particular one is going to be INTERESTING and FUN, with works/furniture by contemporary artists like Olafur Eliasson and Jeppe Hein - high end. The social setting is an artful one, couldn't agree more, and for KARRIERE to break down the white walls for us to experience sculpture and artwork in a social setting is a rare possibility in this town. We salute you

Quote:

‘The co-existence of substance and pattern, and exploring the point where the two meet... creates... a feeling of delight that cannot be defined, it can only be experienced.’
-Cecil Balmond

Brothers in Arms

Whent to Louisiana today with my mom, Mikkel Mo and his mom, like an extended family tour. Great stuff on display - 5 totally different experiences under one roof- it was the last day of the Cecil Balmond exhibition - that was like finding the key to a secret door to the 5th dimension, unreal. An intellectualization of the fascination og prisms, triangles, frequence and light. All the REAL INTERESTING FUN stuff. My god it was beautiful. I wish I'd gone before to actually read through it since the material is heavy, nevertheless it was a deep connection. He even invented the Hz machine, if I could I would have stolen it, but took this picture instead - good to have shoulders to stand on and a great inspiration indeed. The cataloque of the Tal R expo going on at the same time suggested a connection between Tal and the Islamistic miniature paintings also on exhibition. They were absolutely amazing, but I found that a connection between Balmond and the miniatures (that was not all islamic at all, great hindu stuff there too), to be a way more relevant comparison. Deep stuff. If all this doesn't make sence to you, go see for yourself, you wont be disappointed. Avedon is on show too - A sexy must see. Go create!

Last night

...was on allright

Grand

Btw. big up to my man Kim Foss - he is the real ol' skool, a gentleman, a culture entrepreneur and innovator. Before he was in charge of the only real film festival in DK, Natfilm Festival, now running the the cinema Grand Theater making it one of the most interesting culture hubs in town at the moment, integrating film, musik, art and now fashion I guess. Respect.

K.O.

Damn, hard nights the last few. Thursday Mads Nørgaard threw a party at the Grand Theater, and like always he is the connector. Met loads of people from around the way we haven't seen in years. Rosforth like always serving the bubbles and the usual suspects on the turntables, Djuna and the everywhere present Trentemøller. The highlight of the evening though, apart from meeting old friends, was the CONTROL flic by Anton Corbijn on Joy Division and Ian Curtis. That's a heartwrecking story of being devided and isolated. Kind of how I feel today, since yesterday was another late night: Trente (yes, him again) threw a party after his concert at VEGA. It was backstage mayhem and lots of fun. The hangover is not to be recommended, but the film is. Goosebumps. I could need a good rest, but no sleep til Brooklyn - Mikkel Kessler, Islands Brygge's local hero is going to box for the quadrouble world championship in Cardiff. We're are all going to Bue's house boat tonight and its going to be a long one. Around 2.30 tonight i guess before he's in the ring. So how am I supposed to see our boy Medhi and ATrak at VEGA? So many choices, so little time.

5 great shows at the moment in modern art museum Louisiana. I am going tomorrow, Sunday to check it out. So should you. By the way, the sneakers in the post below whent on ebay for $2.600. Ridiculous

Sneaker pimps are just over doing it these days. Check out these babies. I'm sure the boys out there in japan or elsewhere will wet them selves when they hit ebay. I'll keep you posted when final bid gets in
